People of Cabo

Paz Mendez

Specialist of Movement, Co-Founder of Sea Salt Experiences, and Founder of Dog Mom Baja

Paz’s journey to Los Cabos was anything but ordinary. Originally from Argentina, Paz was living in Costa Rica when a friend insisted she visit Cabo, saying it was a place she just had to see. Trusting her friend’s instinct, she packed her bags and headed to Baja, and from the moment she arrived, she knew this was where she was meant to be. Eleven years later, Cabo’s beaches, waves, and vibrant nature continue to captivate her heart, fueling her passion for movement and wellness.

Paz is more than just a fitness instructor; she’s a movement specialist, blending the disciplines of yoga, Pilates, and barre to help her clients connect with their bodies in new and transformative ways. She’s also the founder of Dog Mom Baja, combining her love for animals with her nurturing spirit. Whether she’s guiding a barre class, leading a yoga session on the beach, or caring for her furry clients, Paz is all about spreading positive energy and making every movement count.

Cabo has been a profound influence on Paz’s personal and professional journey. The ocean, with its powerful waves and endless horizon, has become her biggest teacher. “Baja’s nature has this unique way of grounding you,” she reflects. The rhythm of the tides, the beauty of the desert, and the vibrant community have shaped Paz’s approach to life, teaching her to flow with whatever comes her way. She credits the ocean for helping her wash away stress and stay connected to her purpose.

What sets Paz apart in the Cabo wellness scene is her passion for conscious movement. She’s not just about helping people get fit—she’s about inspiring them to move in ways that feel good, sustainable, and in tune with their bodies. Paz believes that movement should be a joyful expression, something that energizes the spirit and fosters long-term wellness. “I’m inspired by nature, movement, and animals,” she says, and this trio of passions shines through in every class she leads.

A day in Paz’s life is a blend of mindfulness, movement, and connection with nature. She starts each morning with meditation, centering herself before moving into her own practice of yoga, Pilates, or a long walk with her beloved dogs. When the waves are right, you’ll find her surfing—an activity that not only keeps her fit but also serves as her creative escape. Paz maintains a balanced diet and finds endless inspiration in art, always keeping her energy high and her outlook bright.

Her advice for those seeking a healthier, more mindful life? “Start moving and create a sustainable routine,” she emphasizes. Paz believes that wellness shouldn’t be about restrictive diets or impossible fitness goals but about finding rhythms that work for your life—simple, joyful habits that you can maintain for the long haul. It’s about listening to your body, nourishing it well, and finding movement that brings you happiness.
