Liza Lomelí

Barre, Pilates & Cycling Instructor in San Lucas

Liza Lomelí's story in Los Cabos is one deeply rooted in love. "El amor me trajo y el amor hizo que me quedara," she reflects, her words echoing the power of connection that led her to this magical place. It was love in all its forms that pulled her in—love for her partner, love for nature, and love for movement. The vibrant blue of the sea and the breathtaking sunsets immediately captured her heart, solidifying her decision to make Cabo her home.

As a barre, Pilates, and cycling instructor, Liza doesn’t just see herself as a fitness instructor; she is a lover of movement. For her, each class is an opportunity to nourish the soul by activating the body. “Es activar nuestra energía vital,” she explains. Through movement, she helps her students unlock not just physical results but a deeper connection with themselves, a balance between body, mind, and spirit.

Though Liza has only been in Cabo for a short time, the experience of starting from scratch has profoundly impacted her personal and professional growth. She treasures every class, every student who chooses to trust in her guidance and returns with joy in their progress. "Me ha hecho ser paciente," she says, recognizing how the ebb and flow of Cabo’s seasonal rhythms have taught her the importance of rest and renewal—both for herself and for her students.

What makes Liza’s approach to fitness special is her ability to go beyond the physical aspect of exercise. She challenges her students to find intention in every movement and reflect on their deeper "why." It’s not just about the body, but about connecting to one's internal world and becoming more mindful of both their outer and inner experiences. Her motivation comes from the belief that through movement, we can create a world filled with happier, more conscious individuals.

As a morning person, she cherishes the early hours of the day for her personal wellness routine. Each morning begins with meditation and journaling, followed by a nourishing protein shake and weight training. Her favorite part of the day? Breakfast. She ensures she has the time to fully enjoy it, whether after her morning classes or her training sessions. Liza finds daily inspiration in reading, particularly from A Course in Miracles and her current read, Atomic Habits. Among her favorite books are Deja de ser tú by Joe Dispenza and Indomable by Glennon Doyle, which have left a lasting impact on her journey.

When it comes to hidden gems in Baja, Liza’s heart belongs to the East Cape. Being close to the ocean is where she feels most at peace. As for the person who inspires her most, it’s her partner, Yvan Mucharraz. She admires his dedication, commitment, and his constant drive to improve, qualities that deeply resonate with her own ethos.

What makes Cabo such a special place for Liza and her practice? It's the way it has allowed her to connect with her true self and her purpose—building meaningful connections with others through movement. Every class, every interaction is a chance to inspire those around her to become more in tune with themselves and the world they inhabit.
