People Of Cabo

Eva Ullmann

Co-Founder of Áureo Wellness Journey, Wellness Guide

Eva Ullmann’s path to Los Cabos wasn’t your typical journey—it was a leap of faith, driven by love and the promise of something more. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Eva found herself in Baja California Sur 18 years ago, following her partner at the time. But when their paths diverged, she faced a pivotal moment: Should she stay or go? Rather than retreat, Eva chose to remain, this time on her own terms. She opened her heart to the possibilities Cabo offered, determined to experience the magic of this place through her own eyes and live a story uniquely her own.

Now, alongside her husband, Eva co-runs Áureo Wellness Journey, a sanctuary nestled in El Pescadero which, for her, is more than a wellness center—”it’s a sacred space where people reconnect with their essence through therapies, movement, ceremonies, and rituals that rekindle their purpose”. Áureo isn’t just about wellness; it’s about remembering who you are, aligning with your heart, and finding guidance within. It’s a place where the Baja community comes to heal, connect, and co-create, with Eva and her husband as the mindful curators of these transformative experiences.

For Eva, living in Baja has been both a challenge and a profound blessing. The magic of this place requires a delicate dance, a rhythm of adaptation that comes naturally once you let the environment guide you. Adjusting from city life to the slower pace of Baja wasn’t easy, but every time Eva felt overwhelmed, a dip in the ocean was all it took to wash away the mental clouds. She views Baja as a land of endless opportunities—professionally, personally, and now as a family. It’s a place where life contracts and expands daily, where nature serves as a witness to the ever-changing cycles.

A typical day for Eva and her family begins with the smile of their young son. Together, they feed their animals, water the plants in their garden, and nourish themselves with a wholesome breakfast. Their wellness center is open daily by appointment, hosting sessions, treatments, or ceremonies. Every day begins with a ritual of mental and energetic preparation to hold the space for those who visit. Meals are shared, making food rituals a significant part of their daily life. As a vegetarian family, they ensure their plates are always balanced and nourishing. As the sun sets, they often say goodbye to the last rays of light at the beach, allowing their dog Nuna to run free. Evenings are for reflection—celebrating the day’s successes and considering areas for growth. In Baja, where “Baja Midnight” hits at 9 pm, going to bed early is one of Eva’s favorite rituals.

What makes Eva’s work special isn’t just what she does—it’s how she does it. Her true gift lies in the art of sharing herself fully. Whether guiding movement, leading ceremonies, or simply being present, Eva pours her heart into every interaction, feeding off the shared energy of those around her.

She’s been dedicated to movement since the tender age of three and a half, and for her, life is best experienced through the body. Every step, every breath is an opportunity to feel alive, and sharing this magic with others is her greatest joy. Eva finds inspiration in the simplest of moments—the warmth of the sun, the sound of the sea, the embrace of her family, and the quiet company of her animals. And when inspiration wanes, she takes it as a sign to pause, breathe, and realign with the beauty of the present.

One of Eva’s favorite hidden gems in Baja is Isla Espíritu Santo. With its crystal-clear waters, stunning beaches, and vibrant marine life, it’s a place that never fails to inspire. Exploring the island with her husband, a marine biologist, adds an extra layer of wonder, as his knowledge brings the landscape to life in ways that only deepen her appreciation.

To Eva, Baja is special not just for its stunning scenery but for the people who call it home. The diverse community, filled with individuals from around the world, brings a constant flow of new ideas, customs, and energy. It’s a place where the land and its people are always evolving, and Eva finds endless joy in being part of this ever-changing dance, sharing her gifts, and helping others find the rhythm of their own hearts.

WOMAN SISTER MOTHER LIFE

Eva’s advice for a happier, more mindful life is simple yet profound: connect with yourself and your breath. “Breathing is the act of life,” she says, reminding us that it’s our first and last act on this earth. Becoming aware of our breath grounds us in the present, reconnects us with our bodies, and awakens the magic within.
