Marcela Beltran

The Rebel Spirit Behind Shamuna Shantar

Born in Chihuahua, Marcela Beltran del Rio’s journey has been anything but conventional. In 2019, while spending the holidays in Los Cabos with her mother, something clicked. Sitting by the ocean, listening to the waves in silence, Marcela felt a deep connection to the place, one that would bring her back sooner than expected. By March 2020, amidst the global pandemic, she decided to make Los Cabos her home.

Marcela’s professional path didn’t always involve sharing her spiritual tools with the world. For years, her sensitivity to energy fields and her fascination with the unseen remained a personal journey. She studied meditation, energy healing, and emotional work for her own growth, never imagining she’d one day teach others. But as life shifted around her, she felt called to share these practices, particularly during the pandemic, when people needed them most. Her retreats and events began to offer the same peace and healing she had found through her studies.

“People often say, ‘I want to be like you, traveling and not working,’ but what they don’t see is that I work all day—I just love what I do,” she laughs.

"The key is loving what you do so it doesn't feel like work." Marcela knows that creating wellness experiences for others takes dedication, organization, and congruence with the message she shares.

Her advice to those looking to live a healthier, more mindful life? "Make yourself the priority." Whether through breathwork, meditation, or simply allowing yourself to experience joy, Marcela believes that prioritizing your own well-being is essential to thriving.

Los Cabos holds a special place in her heart, not just for its stunning natural beauty but for the conscious community that has grown around her. From the sea to the mountains, Cabo’s energy fuels her practice and her life’s work. And when she’s not guiding others, you might find her at her favorite hidden gem, Sol de Mayo, or being inspired by incredible individuals like Ofelia Bojórquez and Rocío Miguel.

Marcela’s vision for Shamuna Shantar is simple but powerful: "To help others explore new ways of living, create a more joyful world, and embrace freedom." Through her holistic retreats and events, she’s doing just that, one breath at a time.

For her, wellness isn’t about rigid routines. Instead, she’s guided by what inspires her in the moment—whether it’s an intensive breathwork practice, morning yoga by the sea, or a peaceful walk in the mountains. She believes in adapting her habits to whatever her body and spirit need at the time. Her mornings are sacred, filled with practices that nourish her mind and body, and she ends her day by disconnecting from technology, focusing on meditation, and preparing for restful, lucid dreams.
