Homemade energizing clay face mask

Although we have amazing local spas available, who says you need to go to one for glowing, energized skin?

This Homemade Energizing Face Mask curated by Sam is packed with natural, skin-loving ingredients that will leave your face feeling refreshed, hydrated, and ready to shine! Inspired by the beauty of Baja’s natural environment, this mask uses green clay and other nourishing ingredients to detoxify and brighten your skin. Whether you’ve been soaking up the Baja sun or just need a pick-me-up, this mask will revive your complexion and give you a natural glow. Plus, it’s greenish and beautiful—just like the lush landscapes around us. 🌱

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp green clay (similar to Aztec clay, available at Mercado Organico San Jose or California Ranch Market)

  • 1 tbsp matcha powder (you can find this at California Ranch Market)

  • 1 tsp honey (locally sourced from Agricole or Baja Farm Fresh)

  • 1 tbsp aloe vera gel (cut fresh from the plant or sourced from The Los Cabos Organic Market at Pedregal)

  • 1-2 tbsp water (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Mix the ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the green clay, matcha powder, honey, and aloe vera gel. Stir well, slowly adding water until the mask forms a smooth, spreadable paste.

  2. Apply to clean skin: Gently apply the mask to your face, avoiding the eyes and lips. The mask will have a greenish hue, which is perfect for a refreshing at-home spa moment.

  3. Let it work: Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes, or until it begins to dry and tighten on your skin.

  4. Rinse off: Wash the mask off with warm water, using circular motions to gently exfoliate as you rinse.

  5. Moisturize: Follow up with your favorite natural moisturizer to keep your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Why it works:

  • Green clay detoxifies and draws out impurities, leaving your skin feeling clean and refreshed.

  • Matcha powder is rich in antioxidants that help fight free radicals and promote a healthy glow.

  • Honey soothes and hydrates the skin, while also providing antibacterial benefits.

  • Aloe vera is deeply hydrating and helps reduce redness or irritation.

This simple, energizing face mask is a great way to incorporate natural, local ingredients into your skincare routine while enjoying a relaxing self-care moment at home. Try it out for a quick skin refresh and experience the benefits of Baja’s natural resources right from your own bathroom!

Mindfully,

Sam.
