Ingredients

  • 2 cups organic almond milk (or any plant-based milk of your choice)

  • 1 tsp organic turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp organic cinnamon powder

  • 1/4 tsp organic ginger powder (or freshly grated ginger)

  • 1 tbsp organic coconut oil

  • 1 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

  • A pinch of black pepper (enhances the absorption of turmeric)

  • A pinch of organic cardamom powder (optional, for extra flavor)

  • A pinch of organic nutmeg powder (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

Measure out all the dry ingredients (turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, cardamom, and nutmeg) and set them aside.

If using fresh ginger, grate it finely.

  2. Heat the Milk:

    • In a small saucepan, pour the almond milk and heat it over medium heat.

    • Stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

  3. Add the Spices:

    • Once the milk is warm, add the turmeric powder, cinnamon powder, ginger powder (or grated ginger), black pepper, cardamom powder, and nutmeg powder to the saucepan.

    • Stir well to combine all the spices with the milk.

  4. Incorporate the Coconut Oil:

    • Add the coconut oil to the saucepan and continue to stir until it melts and blends with the milk and spices.

  5. Simmer:

    • Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together. Be sure not to let it boil.

  6. Sweeten:

    • If you prefer your golden milk sweetened, add raw honey or maple syrup to taste. Stir well to ensure it dissolves completely.

  7. Strain and Serve:

    • If you used fresh ginger, you might want to strain the golden milk to remove the ginger pieces.

    • Pour the golden milk into a cup or mug.

  8. Enjoy:

    • Your homemade organic golden milk is ready to be enjoyed. Drink it warm and savor the soothing and healthful properties.

Tips:

  • You can store any leftover golden milk in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat it gently on the stove before consuming.

  • Feel free to adjust the spices to suit your taste preferences.

  • For an extra creamy texture, you can blend the golden milk in a blender before serving.

Enjoy your homemade organic golden milk as a comforting and healthful drink!

Mindfully,

Sam.
